All The Times Thor Has Screamed No In Anger During Marvel Movies

All The Times Thor Has Screamed No In Anger During Marvel Movies

He may be the God of Thunder, but being Thor isn't easy. Chris Hemsworth has played the Norse legend and Marvel comic character since 2011 and let's face it, the superhero has seen more hard times than good ones. While Thor certainly lived a more privileged life before becoming an Avenger then characters like Steve Rogers (who was bullied in his youth and then frozen for 70 years), the MCU hero has been through quite the wringer. As a result, Hemsworth has also belted out "No" more times than you probably realized. Take a look.

This compilation of Thor "no's" is quite eye opening, identifying a catchphrase that has been there all along. Although you might not have noticed until now. The saying may be far from original, but it is a universal one. While most of us probably haven't wielded a magical hammer or flown across the galaxy via an incredible portal, having moments that make one want to scream into for the cosmos is a tad more relatable. This video posted on Reddit, features 12 instances of drawn out No's from the God of Thunder, starting with his appearance in 2011's Thor up until the very moment Thanos' horrifying snap in Avengers: Infinity War. Although cries and sounds of shock in the theater might have made you forget that last one. As the short video chronicles Thor's discomfort, they seem to get more and more comical.

The MCU's Thor has sometimes been one filmmakers didn't quite know what to do with tonally. Coming from the old-timey Asgard that is simultaneously futuristic-looking, when Thor was sent to Earth in his first appearance, he played a fish-out-water balanced by comedy delivered by Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings. The second entry, Thor: The Dark World wasn't well received, as fans have viewed it as one of the weakest MCU films. However, Thor was given a central role in the MCU, as his brother Loki's reign of terror was a main plot point in The Avengers. With Chris Hemsworth being quite the comedy actor himself, he never seemed afraid to give into some of the cheese and ridiculousness of Thor, but with Taika Waititi onboard as director for 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, the hero finally found a balance that worked for the character.

Although fans including Chadwick Boseman, might be a little sour about Thor's missed opportunity to take out Thanos early on in Avengers: Infinity War, they're even more excited to see what's in store for the God of Thunder and the rest of the Avengers as they take another shot as Thanos in Avengers 4 next summer. Melodramatic "no's" and all.

Both Banner and the Hulk have witnessed a friendship flourish with the Asgardian Thor, a fellow Avenger. At first, the two struggled through violent clashes and petty arguments over who was the strongest, but these contests led to camaraderie during their time as enslaved gladiators on the planet Sakaar.

In AVENGERS #16, all of the founders left, but Captain America stuck around to work with a trio of former villains: Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Hawkeye. Even with the team's power and experience levels at an all-time low, they still managed to fend off attacks from the likes of Enchantress, Kang, and even Doctor Doom.
