Celebrities. They're just like us! When they get downtime over the holidays from the rush of cooking and shopping, they settle down with a great movie, preferably one for the whole family. Mark Wahlberg wants you to go out this Thanksgiving season and see his new movie, Instant Family (which is actually getting great reviews). But when asked which movies Wahlberg will share with his kids over the holiday season, he rattled off this impressive list:

There's a lot to analyze in this fun list that was shared with us by Fandango. For starters, we love the fact that Mark Wahlberg -- who has made a handful of funny films with Will Ferrell -- shows Elf to his kids over the holidays. Does he also share "making of" stories from the comedy The Other Guys? Because I want to hear those.
Also, there are movies on this list that Have the ability to lead to other family movie nights, preferably at the movie theater. The Harry Potter series, for example, could trigger a trip to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. That sequel continue the legacy of J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World, only, with new characters.
It's also cool that Mark Wahlberg, in this list of movies he will share with his kids, put the 2000 Grinch movie, starring Jim Carrey and directed by Ron Howard. Obviously, the Grinch story is a timeless tale that can have several different interpretations. Benedict Cumberbatch voices him now, and our own Adam Holmes declared that this new take surpasses Carrey's, so maybe Mark Wahlberg needs to update his choices?
Instant Family feels like the kind of movie that will make its way to audience's "Must Revisit" list every holiday season. In the new heartwarming comedy, Wahlberg and Rose Byrne play a married couple who take a chance on adoption and end up with three kids who instantly turn their lives upside down. But instead of wacky, the movie tugs at the heartstrings, and by all accounts, it really works.
